This navaid is named after a nearby small town, which itself has the same name as something you might find on an old U.S. coin.
It's near a ski resort (and a small airport that's closed in the winter months) with the name of something you get water from.
It's also near the final resting place of many American heroes.

This month's navaid is named after a city.
It's near the local airport, but doesn't share the same identifier. That airport doesn't have airline service or military activity anymore, but it does have International status, and has a TRACON and a full-time FAA-staffed ATC tower.
You'd think by its name that it would be on a hill or a mountain.
The city USED to share a nickname with the large tourist destination close to last month's VOR location.
Lastly, this town is the final destination for some very bad people.
